Homeowner and owner of Packer Brick, Brett Packer, donated the materials and labor for our new HOA mailbox, which was installed this week! Because of Mr. Packer’s generosity, the HOA finally has a permanent mailing address and is also the official (and secure) repository for homeowners to place their annual dues, ARC applications, cast votes on neighborhood referendums, and leave comments, among others.
In the Spring 2015 edition of the Quail Creek Newsletter, homeowners were asked to weigh-in on creating a permanent mailbox, since each year, when a new President or Secretary is voted into office, the official address of the Association had to be changed with Rockwall County Records Office and homeowners had to be notified of the change. Through an online poll that was posted on this website last year, homeowners gave overwhelming support. The Board proposed less expensive options, which would require an exception to be made by the ARC, but homeowners preferred to maintain the architectural standards, and create a mailbox that was consistent with the neighborhood. Homeowners were informed about the decision to move forward in the July 1, 2015 Quail Creek Newsletter.
Mr. Packer’s contribution, however, eliminated the bulk of the anticipated costs. The only expenditures ended up being the cost of the concrete & rebar for the base, which Board members David Hoye & Ken Daulong poured and set, and the actual security mailbox, which Board member Brad Peters took care of ordering.
Delays in erecting the mailbox were chiefly due to the Board’s desire to plan appropriately for the actual location and design, as well as other, more pressing issues, especially the street maintenance that was approved by homeowners at the last Annual Meeting.
Please be sure to thank Brett for his continued help and support in making Quail Creek such a great place to live!
